■ The 1st Sensory Exhibition ~Art of the New Era~
"Art for the New Era"
With these words in mind, this exhibition was born.
In the past few years, words such as "new lifestyle" and "new normal" have become popular due to the spread of the new coronavirus, and we are trying to survive in a turbulent era. In the midst of this, I think it is frankly our feeling that we are not quite sure what we should aim for and what we should do in the future by facing various social problems.
This is probably because each of us feels the sensation of trying to adapt to the changes in the world like a big swell. It must be the moment when the times are about to change, that is, the advent of the "New Era."
Precisely because it is such an era, isn't it necessary for art to be a mirror that reflects the current era? Art is the expression of non-verbal senses (kankaku) that becomes works such as paintings and sculptures. By turning that feeling into art, I think we can create a guideline for the direction we should aim for in the current era.
[Sensory Exhibition # 1 ~Art of the New Era~] [Kankaku Exhibition]
With a new theme, this exhibition explores nature and man-made objects, concrete and abstract things, emotions and distance, and a wide range of the themes of the creators themselves that are contained in all of their works.
The total number of exhibits this time is about 150 points. A total of about 100 artists participated, including global artists from all over Japan, from Hokkaido in the north to Okinawa in the south, as well as global artists from Korea and China. It was the highest number of participants ever at the open call for participants exhibition.
There is a wide variety of means of expression, and in addition to painting, photography, and modeling expression, all genres of expression, such as public production and live painting, will come together to create a new era of content.
Please feel the works of contemporary artists who are active now in your real feeling.
Starting from this year, we are planning to hold this [Sensory Exhibition #1 ~ Art in the New Era~] [Kankaku Exhibition]every year here at the Fukuoka Asian Art Museum as a new public exhibition of the new era, so please look forward to it.
