The "1000 Exhibition" brings together 1,000 works from 1,000 artists from Japan and abroad, spanning genres. This is an international open call exhibition open to artists from both Japan and overseas, from first-time exhibitors to professionals.

TORAM, the spatial art venue, is a creative crossroads where diverse forms of expression intersect. Professionals and amateurs from Japan and abroad gather together to create a diverse range of artworks, including paintings, videos, and installations. For artists, it is a place of challenge and growth, and for visitors, it is an experience of "discovery" where they can encounter new talent. TORAM offers an open space where you can not only "view" art, but also "feel, think, and connect." .

Image Review
Judging fee: Free
*Those who are planning to create a work in the future will be judged based on images of their past works (reference works).
*If you are not selected, your participation fee will not be charged, so please wait for contact from the secretariat.
Application Deadline
The deadline for submissions will be once the number of works reaches 1,000.
You will be notified of the results within about a week of submitting your entry.
5. By the event date
Once the date has been decided, we will send a notification to the selected participants.
A notice of the event (including the venue and date and time) is scheduled to be issued in spring 2027.
★Information for new applicants
Thank you for your interest in the 1000 Exhibition. TORAM's public exhibitions are held at the National Art Center, Tokyo and the Fukuoka Asian Art Museum. Please feel free to participate in our other public exhibitions.
Although you will be required to submit a new application to have your work exhibited, we hope you will experience the joy of having your work exhibited at an international art museum. We also welcome participation from those who have received a notice of selection.
6. Application categories and participation fees

8. About the Exhibition
Exhibition Rules
・Wall-hanging artworks require a hanging cord
・Unframed, edges treated as part of the artwork
・Remove the glass panel from the frame (acrylic panels are acceptable)
・Equipment must be prepared by each participant (power supply available)
・Exhibition stands are available, but you must bring your own stand
・Works using public property require permission
Prohibitions
・Do not use nails or double-sided tape on walls or display stands.
★Works that contain natural materials or that may be prone to insects must be fumigated and treated with insecticide.
・Untreated works cannot be exhibited.
・Items that scatter or are granular cannot be exhibited.
・Distributing flyers inside the exhibition room is prohibited
・QR codes cannot be displayed

10. Export

Removal cost (removal, packing, return): 5,500 yen

・Overseas return: International document fee of 5,500 yen will be charged separately

11. Sales
Regarding sales of artworks during the exhibition period
If you are interested in purchasing, please contact the TORAM office. After the exhibition, we will hold a sales meeting at our partner gallery, 410 Gallery. Once a sale is made, a sales certificate will be provided to the purchaser.
Sales commission: 40% of the price including tax
Electronic payment fee: 5%
Bank transfer fee: To be borne by each party
Certificates issued: Only for works over 30,000 yen (tax included)
