About the Dynamic Contemporary Artists Exhibition
All genres of exhibitions
The exhibition brings together all genres under one roof and is open to submissions every year at international art museums such as the Fukuoka Asian Art Museum (Hakata, Fukuoka) and the National Art Center, Tokyo (Roppongi, Tokyo).
Since the first exhibition, it has attracted attention from art professionals and art fans alike, and has produced many artists who are active as professionals and artists who have made their mark overseas. This exhibition features many artists who are active not only in Japan but also overseas.
What is TORAM spatial art?
A place for new endeavors
We hold exhibitions of all genres, including two-dimensional and three-dimensional art, with a focus on contemporary art.
Many artists from Japan and abroad participate, providing an opportunity for them to start working professionally and for artists exhibiting for the first time to try their hand at new things.
We are engaged in a wide range of art-related activities, including open exhibitions at international art museums, international exchange exhibitions, artist support, and workshops.
Introducing the Fukuoka Asian Art Museum
Fukuoka/Hakata
Fukuoka, a hub for exchange with Asia
Fukuoka City has long played the role of a hub city for Asian exchange, based on its geographical and historical characteristics of having been a gateway for Asian culture since ancient times. The Fukuoka Asian Art Museum was established in 1999 as one of Fukuoka City's pioneering efforts in Asian exchange. Since then, it has attracted attention from Japan, Asia, and the world through the following activities:
The world's only museum specializing in modern and contemporary Asian art
The Fukuoka Asian Art Museum is the only museum in the world that systematically collects and exhibits modern and contemporary Asian art. These works are neither imitations of Western art nor repetitions of tradition; they transcend the conventional framework of "art" and are created by artists living in the ever-changing "present" of Asia, with heartfelt messages. The museum's wide-ranging and high-quality exhibition of modern and contemporary Asian art has a uniqueness and appeal that is different from any other museum in the world.
A place for creativity and communication
The Fukuoka Asian Art Museum has functioned as a place where people can become familiar with Asian art and culture through various art exchanges such as inviting Asian artists and researchers to stay and create works in residence, and researching Asian art. It is an interactive museum that aims not only for Fukuoka, Japan and Asia, and for citizens and art-related people to simply meet, but also for them to understand each other, create and disseminate together.
